Volunteer at a donor clinic! When you volunteer at one of our donor clinics, you will be proud to be a part of a positive and fun community, committed to saving lives. Donor Clinic Volunteers may be asked to welcome and greet pack members, help donor companions to complete the pre-donation questionnaire, gently restrain canines during their blood donation, and provide plenty of treats and belly rubs.
Depending on your level of experience and education, other duties may be assigned.
Along with contributing to your community, volunteer experience is a great way to stand out to employers. It shows that you are willing to help others by exhibiting teamwork skills and compassion. Many of the skills you develop as a volunteer may also be relevant to your current or future career.
The skills needed for volunteering are the abilities you have to effectively help others and support a great cause. CABB relies on its volunteers to be: committed, have good communication skills, compassion, a strong work ethic, be a community leader, demonstrate good time management skills, and contribute to the team.
When volunteering at Donor Clinics, you may be working directly with our canine friends. It is essential to let us know beforehand if you have trouble standing for long periods of time, are unable to lift 50lbs, have pet allergies, or faint at the sight of blood.
