ONE DAY (5.5 hrs) VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Saturday March 8th (includes lunch)  10:00am to 3:30pm

BCLMA  was born of the vision, passion and leadership of the founding members, committed to building awareness and advocating for people living with lymphedema. Starting in 2002, Catherine DiCecca, an RMT and Dr Elliot Weiss, a physiatrist had informal discussions regarding the lack of resources for lymphedema patients and the number of patients who went undiagnosed.

BC Lymphedema Association accomplishments have been significant, but the challenges faced: lack of awarenessnon or misdiagnoses of the disease plus the lack of medically funded treatment, education and diagnostic testing continue to be the leading issues where BCLA directors focus their energy.

Noteworthy:  This event may appeal to students with interest in health care careers from RMT, PT to Physician/Specialist.  Although not a requirement, we are wanting to assist Career Ed students with their volunteer hour requirements while getting assistance for an all volunteer non profit organization.

Orientation will be provided with assistance throughout the day’s event by BCLA Members
