SUMMARY:Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure - Abbotsford
DESCRIPTION:The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is the largest single-day\, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause. \n  \nThis year’s event will be taking place on Sunday\, October 1\, 2023. \n  \nPOSITION OVERVIEW \nCIBC Run For the Cure Event Day Volunteers are an important part of the success of this event. Whether you will be helping with site set up/tear down\, greeting and directing participants\, photography or tallying donations\, there is a volunteer position for you! \nAs an Event Day Volunteer\, you will be responsible for: \n\nAttend a location during your agreed shift\nVariety of duties/tasks that could include:\nGreet and engage participants during registration and activities\nGeneral accounting\nSet up/tear down of tents\, tables/chairs\, banners\nRoute Marshall – directing participants for the 1km and 5km routes\n\n  \nQualifications needed: \nSome roles require you to be at least 19 years of age and may require heavy lifting due to the scope of the role and responsibilities. \n  \nCommitment required:  \n\nAvailability on event day – Sunday\, October 1 (once registered\, someone from the event committee will be in contact to confirm shift and role)\nShift commitment between 2-6 hours\n\n  \nBenefit to volunteers:  \n\nHelp the cancer cause and be a part of meaningful action!\nGet experience\, learn about the cancer cause and hone your skills\nMeet new people\, build your network and professional portfolio\nReceive volunteer hour for school or community requirements\n\n  \nContact Info:  \nZahra Sina \n(437) 800-5719\, ext 14003 \nZahra.sina@cancer.ca \nwww.cancervolunteer.ca
