Maplewood Care Society is a non-profit society in Abbotsford dedicated to serving and supporting our residents with dignity, one unique person at a time. We have two long-term care homes, MSA Manor and Maplewood House, which provide for 34 and 78 residents, respectively. We also have a Day Program for Older Adults.

Description of Volunteer Opportunity: We are in search of volunteers to help our Recreation team. Tasks include assisting in events such as bingo, garden walks, and crafts, as well as helping bring residents to activities and facilitating their participation in meaningful programs. Volunteers have the ability to build connections with our residents and families, and can make life even better for those that need love and care.

Qualifications: We require volunteers to be able to work with vulnerable persons, have patience, and can be empathetic in a variety of situations. Successful volunteers are able to develop their creativity, dedication, and motivational abilities!

Commitment: Volunteers are asked to fulfill a minimum of 60 hours with us. Our residents particularly enjoy volunteers that make commitments of at least six months as well so that stronger connections can be made.
